Our Team
As part of the Boomerang Adventures team, all of our staff work collectively to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our clients. The relationship formed between our staff and clients is seen as pivotal, thus setting us apart from other outdoor adventure companies. Staff members at Boomerang Adventures are enthusiastic about both the outdoors, and our client’s wellbeing. The result of this is an all-round enjoyable experience for all who are involved in our adventures.
Ellyn
Ellyn started her training with Boomerang in 2018 and finished her Cert IV the following year. Her role is now the Outdoor Education Manager.
Her passion for the outdoors began when attending school holiday programs from a young age and she continues with Boomerang because she loves seeing kids and youth embrace the same opportunities for growth and personal development and is always grateful for the chance to share in and facilitate these experiences. She believes there are many benefits to be had by spending time in the beautiful places we’re surrounded by and that everyone should make the outdoors a part of their own journey at some stage in their life.
When Ellyn is not working, she enjoys playing music, trying to surf and just spending any time outside in the sun that she can!
Heather
Heather joined Boomerang Adventures in 2019, completing her Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation the following year. She has now stepped into the role of Outdoor Education Coordinator.
For Heather, this is the dream job! She has always had a strong love for all things outdoors – hiking, canoeing, white water kayaking, abseiling. She is so grateful that her youth involved so many outdoors adventures with both family and Scouts, and now finds joy in helping others to have similarly positive experiences.
She believes that outdoor education provides the opportunity to discover just how capable you really are when you push your comfort zones.
Heather loves to test her own limits by trying new things like surfing, rock-climbing and skateboarding. And nothing makes her excited like cute animals do!
Claire
Claire joined Boomerang Adventures in 2021, completing her Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership the following year.
Her love for the outdoors developed at school through camps and the Duke of Edinburgh program. Since then, for the last couple of years, Claire has returned to her school to assist on various Duke of Ed expeditions. Claire has established a passion for hiking and leading youth in the outdoors, making their time memorable and exciting, while seeking to help them know the great opportunities and joy the outdoors brings. Seeing and encouraging youth learning in new environments and challenging themselves to grow as individuals is something Claire loves and values being part of this journey.
On Claire’s time off she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing soccer, and occasionally getting back on the surfboard.
Stuey
Stuey started his Cert III in Outdoor Leadership when he joined Boomerang in 2024.
After a long and hard 14 years on building sites, Stuey saw the opportunity to share his true passion for the outdoors with people.
Stuey spends all his weekends hiking, fishing, four-wheel driving and camping so the decision to re-train was an easy one to make; do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life!
Graham
Graham’s passion for the outdoors was sparked whilst hiking in the Blue Mountains before the age of ten. Since then, Graham has spent over twenty-five years in the Army and fifteen years studying Martial Arts, dedicating his career to training and teaching others. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience, hiking and camping with the youth of today – the next generation of nature’s ambassadors.
Graham has completed his Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation, specialising in navigation, canoeing and abseiling.

Joel
Joel joined Boomerang Adventures in 2023 and is now completing his Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership.
Joel was drawn into Outdoor Leadership by his eagerness to develop new skills and learn ways to overcome challenges not faced in everyday life.
In his spare time, Joel loves to spend time with friends and family, often going away on camping trips with them. Joel likes being active and social on weekends and enjoys playing oztag during the week.
Ben
Ben started at Boomerang Adventures in 2022 and completed his Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership the following year. His enthusiasm, passion and love for the great outdoors sparked at a young age and is continuing to flourish.
With a background in Scouting and Duke of Edinburgh, Ben is passionate about educating kids and encouraging their love for the outdoors and adventures. He believes that by challenging ourselves with new experiences and being surrounded by the outdoors we are best able to
grow and develop new skills.
When Ben is not at work, he is outdoors canyoning, climbing, swimming, and exploring the world.
Num
Num joined Boomerang Adventures in 2024 and is undertaking his Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership.
He has been drawn to the outdoors ever since he completed a 20-day school program consisting of 10 days hiking and 10 days white water rafting.
He now wants to teach others about the beauty of nature and the different perspectives that being in the outdoors can provide. He is passionate about sharing his belief that getting away from the big city is a great thing - it clears the mind and also gives you time to appreciate the little things in life.
When he's not at work Num enjoys spending time with friends and playing American Football or Rugby but is also always keen to try new activities and willing to 'have a go'.
Claire
Claire started at Boomerang Adventures in 2022 and is currently completing his Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership.
Claire moved from regional Victoria to be able to work with us! Claire's passion for the outdoors began in High School where she had the opportunity to undertake Outdoor Education as a class, and since then she's wanted to be able to provide the experiences she's had for other people and be able to show them the wonders of the outdoors!
In her spare time Claire enjoys snowboarding and family camping trips as well as the occasional beach trip.
Heidi
Heidi joined Boomerang Adventures at the beginning of 2022 after completing her Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership at Newcastle TAFE.
She has a passion for teaching and wanted to share her love of the outdoors in an exciting and personal way.
Outside of work, Heidi loves hitting the beach with her surfboard, bouldering, sewing and camping with her family. She is a woman of many skills, and is always searching for new hobbies to jump into!
Mitch
Mitch started at Boomerang Adventures in 2020 and completed his Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership the following year.
He was drawn to the traineeship because in many ways outdoor education has always been a big part of his life.
Mitch loves being active and having lots of fun and when he not at work, he’s usually playing sport or catching big fish!
Lisa
Lisa has been the Office Manager at Boomerang Adventures since the beginning of 2014.
Lisa has a Bachelor in Business and in her spare time enjoys the outdoors and travelling.
Boomerang Adventures will also employ casual staff from time to time. Most of our casual staff are regulars with us and fit in as part of our team. Having a great team allows us to deliver the best possible program for our clients and it is something right at the heart of what we do and the way we do it.
